ABOUT THE RYE FUND
The Rye Fund was established in 2008 in conjunction with the Sussex Community Foundation (the Foundation) an independent charity which manages funds and distributes grants on behalf of donors within Sussex. The Foundation hold and manage the funds donated, and provides administration ofthe grant-making process including monitoring of performance and investment management.
From an initial pledge of £20,000 subscribed by some local benefactors, and with generous donations from other residents and grants from government sources, the Rye Fund has grown to over £120,000, and distributes some £8,000 each year in grant awards to local groups and charitable organisations.
We have a panel drawn from members of the community who know the area and who are already involved in a local business or charitable organisation. In conjunction with the Foundation, the local panel makes the final selection of awards from the list of approved applications. The panel members also take an interest in encouraging other groups to come forward to apply for grants. The current chairman is Charles Bronsdon.
If you would like to join the panel or know more please contact us at info@ryefund.org.uk
HOW YOU CAN HELP RYE FUND
We have already accumulated a fund of over £120,000, the income from which helps local voluntary organisations. We now want to build the endowment to £200,000 to ensure a long term flow of income to provide grants to local community groups.
YOU CAN HELP BY:
• Telling other prospective donors about the Fund.
• Telling local community groups seeking funding.
• Joining our Standing Order campaign and help us to meet our
target for 30 people making regular contributions and help
sustain a long term flow of grants.
• Making a one-off donation.
• Becoming a Foundation Donor with a donation of £1,000
or more and joining our existing Foundation Donors.
• Remembering The Rye Fund in your will and leaving a legacy
